The listing says semi-detached which probably means itГўв‚¬в„ўs a twin home with one side attached. residing in Manhattan!!!!!!!!!!!! Like something out of a dream! Can you believe that such a house exists at all in Manhattan (other than Gracie Mansion, the Mayor's official residence in the Upper EAst Side)? My God!!!!! To know that one can live in Manhattan and come home to a traditional-type single family detached home lik this (NOT a brownstone or townhouse) each day. There are others single family detached houses in today (Friday, November 22, 2019), I just noticed your response to my earlier posting and looked at the house you referenced. I wonder, though, if the neighborhood at-large is still too prone to being noisy and also atracting the crime-riddden and misbahving elements? Who If soo, who would really want to live in seeming luxury yet be in close-enough proximity to what sometimes is or might be a living hell? So you're sitting in your living room trying to relax and enjoy yourself or to nap or sleep and people outside in the streets or nearby environs or even next door to you are blasting music and/or rabble-rousing all hours of the day and/'or night? I''ll pass on the option to live there! Just today (Friday, November 22, 2019), I just noticed your response to my earlier posting and looked at the house you referenced. I think it's worth the $$$ just for the garage! Like this semi-attached home on W 217 Street with Private Driveway & Garage(!) which Zillow values at $1.59M.

Living in inwood is not that crazy if you work above 34th street on the A train. West Harlem is already feeling the fire from all that future development down the line. Inwood has lots of parks, the cloisters, some good restaurants, the river and even a sailing school and kayak club. but you can push it to 34th street if you want. a solid 30-40 minutes to midtown is an average commute. if you live in inwood the train is always empty in the morning. The Hudson yards, Columbia University expansion, Manhattan West, Riverside Center, and now even Facebook is rumored to occupy the old USPS building on the west side of 34th ST. This being said yes, something is bound to happen redevelopment wise but if city continues its war against motor vehicles and driving it will take some of gloss of living way up there.ДЄll those developments along the A line in Manhattan put a lot of pressure in inwood. Probably could commute from areas of North Shore, East Shore and Mid-Island areas of Staten Island faster.

It is just too GD far and transit options while good for what they are, still often involve more effort that living in other highly desirable parts of city. Quite honestly don't see Inwood in any danger of becoming the next 'Williamsburg' or something.
